Complex projects naturally require review and scrutiny. The problem begins when decisions are repeatedly postponed without a defined path to resolution. Contractors retain resources, prices change, financing assumptions expire, and stakeholders lose confidence.
We believe major projects should operate with explicit decision gates, clear owners for unresolved issues, and defined deadlines for technical and commercial approvals. Where a decision cannot be made, the reason should be documented and the next action made visible.
Speed is not the objective. Disciplined decision-making is. A slower decision made with clear accountability is usually less damaging than an open-ended period of uncertainty that quietly increases the cost of delivery.
